What a lovely sound to bask in! I nursed my precious little one to sleep a couple hours ago, then was able to read an entire novel. The book was called "Wedding Bell Blues" by Linda Windsor. Such a good sweet book with a powerful message of love & forgiveness. Now I am enjoying my free time cuddled up on the couch with my laptop. It's not often that I get to sit back and relax and do "my own thing." Times like these, although not often, are so refreshing! Off to catch up on some of my favorite blogs! :)

Diaper-less!

I've been doing elimination communication with my daughter part-time since she was 9 months old. (Now 13 months) It's been going pretty well. She's gone on the potty for almost all bowel movements since we started. Its super nice not having to change a dirty diaper! I usually get her to pee on the potty about 4-5 times a day with a few 'accidents' in her diaper. Instead of buying and throwing away a bunch of diapers every day, now we only toss 1 or 2 a day. Totally saves money which I love!

Last night I was thinking about how I should really crack down on the potty training and put forth more effort on my part. She's fully capable, its just that sometimes I'm too busy to realize she needs to go or that she's trying to get my attention to go. Also with the holidays, the past month has been crazy! Go-g0-go, always out and about, visiting, having company, etc. We tend to forget about the potty when there is much going on! However we always, yes always, put her on the potty upon awakening, and then usually every couple hours throughout the day and once again before bath time. So anyways, last night I let her use the potty and then remain diaper-less until bedtime! She alerted me when she needed to poop and we quickly walked to the bathroom and she climbed onto her potty chair and went! Then she peed before her tub time and once again before bed. I was so proud of her!

This morning I allowed her to roam diaper-less for a couple hours as well but she did have an accident on herself. I recognized she was in the process of peeing and I said "no wait, lets go on the potty" and she did, she finished on the potty. Little ones are smart, I don't care what anyone says!

She's my little miss smarty pants! Next time around I'm going to start elimination communication right from birth!

She finally ate them!

For the past month or so, I've been offering Madison scrambled eggs a couple mornings a week for breakfast along with a piece of cinnamon raisin millet toast & some fruit. Well, she gobbles everything up except the eggs. She is normally a child who will eat anything you give her, including all those "weird" veggies! People teased saying "she just doesn't like your scrambled eggs", so my mother gave it a shot and she refused those too. During Christmas my brother & his family came for a visit and his wife Natalie whipped up some eggs and she ate them! So it's been a joke that she'll only eat "Aunt Natalies" eggs...until today that is! This morning I scrambled up some delicious eggs with some ham & cheese and to my amazement she ate them! She finally ate my scrambled eggs...You know you're a mother when the really simple things in life totally make your day!

Hello fellow bloggers!

Hi ladies!
Just wanted to write a little about myself for those who may come across my blog and do not know me. First off, I am a "Main-ah", born and raised 12 years in the unique state of Maine. I can still remember those very cold winters, which reminds me to be thankful to now live in the Sunshine state! I grew up in a household with my parents & brothers. Raised in a "Christian" home, went to church on Sunday, knew the stories of the bible, and so on.

My parents & I moved to Florida when I was 12 years old. I hated it at first because my family was all up north but I learned to appreciate the blue skies & warmth. During my teen years I went through many struggles as most teens do. I was a roller coast of emotions and battled depression. In September of 2001 I realized that Christianity was not just about believing but about a relationship with a Savior. I gave my life to Christ at Rock The Universe in Orlando Florida with thousands of others.

I left the public school system as a tenth grader (due to health reasons) and continued my education through online home schooling. I finished my studies early with honors!

In November of 2005 I was in the process of dissolving a bad dating relationship when I met Paul (my husband). Prior to us meeting we both had been praying for God to lead us to a spouse, pretty crazy! We dated for 4 months and then had a beautiful wedding in April of 2006. Marriage has not been easy, its been a long road full of errors, selfishness, and distrust. However we both believe that God hates divorce and our relationship with Him has been a driving force for us to keep trying! We're hoping God will use our marriage as a testimony for His Name. Through Christ all things are possible...two very different people with sinful tendencies can make a marriage work! "Love is not a fight, but its something worth fighting for."

After two years of marriage we discovered we were pregnant with our first little blessing. She came into our lives in December of 2008. Babies are absolutely amazing, and becoming a parent is a like nothing else.

Here we are today in the new year of 2010, been married almost 4 years, our daughter just turned one, and we are eager to see what God has planned for us in the upcoming months!
